#FYFriday I’m not a vinyl junkie or a record collector, but I am a sub-culture music fanatic, so I get excited to own records like these. | #justadded #reggae #skinheadreggae #rocksteady #rockabilly #rocknroll #garagerock #rogerrivas #rivasrecords #HEK #lilluis #wildfires #blackmambas - I’m especially excited about my very limited edition record from @reggaerog!
The Most Significant Poem This Decade
Our generation will be known for nothing.
Never will anybody say,
We were the peak of mankind.
That is wrong, the truth is
Our generation was a failure.
We actually succeeded
Is a waste. And we know
Living only for money and power
Is the way to go.
Being loving, respectful, and kind
Is a dumb thing to do.
Forgetting about that time,
Will not be easy, but we will try.
Changing our world for the better
Is something we never did.
Was how we handled our problems.
Was a joke.
We knew that
People thought we couldn’t come back
That might be true,
Unless we turn things around

— Derek Nichols recently tweeted a poem written by his 14-year-old brother Jordan. Clearly, Jordan, is quite insightful for his young age.
From further research, it looks like this poem was very much inspired by Jonathan Reed and the original poem, “The Lost Generation”.

brianbraganza I’m not sure why I thought of you when I came across this. Maybe because the photography is amazing. Maybe because I know deep down there’s a Rocker in you. Either way, this set is glorious! Rockers/Ton-up Boys

This is something that needs to happen more often. Some excellent person(s) has designed an illustrated and audible history of The Smiths, as an interactive timeline. It’s a fantastic little thing that features The Smiths’ catalog and history laid out for easy observation and enjoyment. Plus, the music is obviously wonderful. Check it out!
Why do you come here?
